RIFOair - Float-controlled venting of vessel with fluctuating liquid levels. Float-controlled vents are level-dependent proportional regulators. In the open basic position (low level), vessel will be vented. When the liquid level rises, the gas leaves the vessel and the float lifts and closes the valve via the rotary slide valve control. This prevents liquid from escaping. When rising air collects in top of the vent valve, the ball sinks with the liquid level and opens the valve again, allowing the air to escape.
Following, not float control, thermal vents operate in terms of their opening and closing behavior like thermal condensate traps.
